Gin lovers of Sydney unite! We’ve found the best damn gin bar in town and you can find it on a rooftop in Manly. Yes, you read that right. A rooftop gin bar exists in Manly and it’s about as good as beachside bars get.
Perched on top of the institution that is Hotel Steyne, The Glasshouse is 100% where you should spend your entire summer. With trendy AF interiors (think totally Iinsta-worthy lush greenery) and views overlooking the beach, whether you seat yourself inside or outside, you’ll never want to leave.
Serving up all kinds of botanical cocktails, from the Roris Marini (with Archie Rose gin, grapefruit juice, cardamom and rosemary) to the Cymbopogon (a mix of Tanqueray, coconut rum, sugar, lime and lemongrass), you can DIY your own G&T or order one (or three) straight off the menu. If you don’t like gin (weirdo), there’s plenty more to choose from, like French rosé or allll of the bubbles. Just sayin’…
When you’ve had one too many cocktails and are getting hangry (we’ve all been there), you can go healthy with salads (the burrata salad is our fave) or go wild with sliders. We obvs always go wild. The smoked pulled pork slider literally melts in your
mouth and the soft shell crab slider, with avocado and yuzu koshu mayo, is so bloody good, you’ll want three.
If you’re with group, opt for a chip tasting board (FYI they have curly fries!) as well as some share bowls so you can try one of everything. The pickle plate will surprise you and the white anchovies are a must. But whatever you do, don’t go home without
ordering a cheese plate, because cheese is life people, duh.
Perfect for a date night or cocktails with the girls, The Glasshouse is always a good idea. Did we mention gin cocktails are only $10 every Thursday and Friday between 5pm–7pm? Yep. There’s that too.
