Fans of Golden Century officially have somewhere new to get their fix. The group behind the now-closed but forever iconic Golden Century restaurant has taken on more real estate at The Exchange building at Darling Square with Golden Century BBQ.
The casual diner sits just beneath its sister restaurant, XOPP, and is dishing out classic Golden Century Cantonese, complete with sides of their beloved XO pippies sauce and some new dishes too.
Pull up to the emerald green takeaway window and order up the Golden Century signature roast duck with your choice of rice or noodles. Or, go for the crispy roast pork belly, signature char siu (BBQ pork) barbecued over open flame. For an extra $4, you can get a side of Golden Century's famous XO sauce.
Dim sum is made in-house and steamed fresh to order, with a neat menu of har gow, pork siu mai, and BBQ pork buns on offer. For dessert, it's custard lava buns and Cantonese steamed sponge cake. To drink, there's a neat edit of beer and wine, as well as traditional Chinese drinks.
"We want our customers to feel like they’re eating at a restaurant without actually having to dine inside a restaurant," says Golden Century's Billy Wong.
"Quality is at the forefront of Golden Century ethos so it’s important for us to ensure the quality of our dishes at Golden Century BBQ reflect that of our restaurants."
