The verdict

Harvest Bar is a small tapas bar that is connected to Majestic Gourmet Grocers, Petersham’s European-inspired foodie destination. This space was once a theatre, then converted to a rollerskating rink, and then, in 2014, was created into the Majestic Gourmet Grocers, including Mercado Europa, the fresh produce market and Majestic Harvest Restaurant. 

The Majestic’s new chef, Shiman Woon (from Three Williams and Cibo e Vino) has created a modern tapas dinner menu built from Mercado Europa’s daily market harvest. Harvest Bar is all about using seasonal ingredients and letting the produce shine in creating these gourmet tapas dishes. There are a whole range of dishes on offer from the fancy ones (duck parfait, pan roasted scallops with sweet corn puree, braised beef cheeks and crab cakes) to the classics (herb fries, onion rings, fried chicken and calamari). 

Of course, you’re going to need some drinks to enjoy with your food of which they have plenty including Australian craft beer on tap, classic cocktails and an extensive wine list.
