Red Wall 1939

If you’re a fellow laksa-lover (aren’t we all?) then listen up because Hawker has arrived in CBD and it's going to be the talk of the town. From the creators of Mamak (one of our faves), this Chinese-Malay foodie mecca is well worth the hype and one queue we won't say no to.

Gorge on Hokkien mee noodles, poached chicken, and roasted pork belly with crunchy crackling to start, then go all out and get your laughing gear around the stingray (yes, we’re serious) followed by whatever flavoured laska you god damn want.

You’re going to want to order at least one dessert (don’t say we didn’t warn you) so wear your stretchiest stretchy pants and prepare yourself for the battered banana or apam balik (aka pancake smothered in peanuts, butter, and creamed corn), worth every damn calorie.

Restaurants

Toki

Toki, a restaurant in North Sydney, puts an experimental spin on fine dining, bringing Asian flavour to your palette using French culinary techniques and fresh Australian produce. Immersed in the low-lit, deep reds and browns of the restaurant, this is a meal that will transport you through place and lifetimes.
