The verdict

What used to be a food truck, Mama Linh’s (mother-and-son food truck duo) has now turned into a traditional and modern Vietnamese restaurant in Glebe. Xiao Linh Meng and Peter Wu are serving food inspired by the streets of Saigon, where sharing is a must and eating with your hands is encouraged.

You will be spoilt for choice at Hem Nine Nine with an extended list of specials and share plates on offer, so make sure you and your gang are ready for a delicious feed. The steamed baos are always a winner, and don’t forget the to try the roast duck rice paper rolls with buckwheat noodles. If you’re looking for something even healthier they offer Vietnamese bone broth, made with their very own pho master stock.

Pho is an obvious choice when at a Vietnamese restaurant, however, don't go past the squid ink seafood fried rice or the Hem special laksa as you might end up with menu envy. With plenty available on the menu, carnivores, vegetarians and vegans are all welcome!
