The Verdict

Sydney is flying high when it comes to new pubs and adding to the already extensive and impressive line-up is Highfield Caringbah. Trust us, this one’s the whole package. Combining classic pub vibes (here’s to the 80 tellies that will screen all major sporting events) and a luxe rooftop terrace complete with fireplace, cocktail bar and living garden, these guys know how to have a bloody good time.

This one is literally a four-in-one venue. If you’re a Shire local, then you’d be all over the ground floor. This is where you’ll find Ugly Pizza which is better than it sounds and Huxley’s Sports Bar that’s known for American classics like mac ‘n’ cheese, burgers and hot dogs. Settle in at either of these to watch all of the American sports. 

Head up the stairs into Public House for your classic Aussie pub. In place of American hot dogs, you’ll be feasting on chicken parmy burgers, fish and chips or a big ol’ rump steak. This area also has a TAB and some epic brews.

To dodge the sports altogether, you’ll want to head up up up. The brand spankin’ new rooftop bar, The Botanical, has a cocktail bar, vertical garden and even a Japanese-style Robata grill. Oh, and epic views of the city skyline. They’re also rocking a whole host of specials like $10 cocktails on Friday and Saturday nights (7pm – 9pm), two for one meals on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, plus crafternoons. That last one will score you a cheeky pint of craft beer for $7.50.
