The Verdict
Everyone’s favourite mini-golf meets cocktail bar is opening a new flagship venue and, news flash, it’ll be directly under Kings Cross’s iconic CocaCola sign. We know what you’re thinking and yes—Kings Cross is about to become cool again. They’re kicking things off on 10 May in style—Gatsby-style, that is.
As for the theme of the actual venue, expect a roaring ’20s fit out that oozes luxury, fun and is a cheeky little #throwback to Potts Point’s past. As for the putt putt action, they’ve gone all out with 27 holes spread across two levels plus three new bars with a fab new cocktail list to match. Basically, you’ll be sipping on lolly-filled cocktails while fuelling your competitive spirit (like it needed any help) with their iconic burgers, bar snacks and loaded fries to boot.
There is so much intense putt-putt golf going on here that you won’t ever want to leave—and you won’t (really) have to because they’ll be open till late every. Single. Night. This joint is sure to bring back some life to The Cross, because let’s face it, Holey Moley is just what we needed.

Bar Demo
Bar Demo is a late-night vinyl bar in Newtown, designed for lovers of a well-crafted drink without the fuss. Owners Claudia Morgan and Olly Churcher (Ex-Double Deuce Lounge) are bartenders by trade, so there’s faith to be had in their curated 60-bottle wine list and seasonally crafted cocktails. The venue itself has grown from their joint experiences working and sipping in some of Sydney’s best bars—Morgan says “we wanted somewhere open late where we could buy a bottle without sitting down for a meal, sink some martinis, listen to some interesting music or have a dance”. Bar Demo certainly checks all of the boxes: open 5pm—midnight, Wednesday—Saturday, with no full kitchen but a dedicated menu for snacks, and a soundtrack of full albums played on vinyl, with each night featuring a curated selection of tunes.
