The verdict
As the poké trend continues to take over Sydney one delicious bowl at a time, a new shop has popped up in Bondi. Hooked on Poké only use fresh, sustainable produce and the best part is that you can build your own bowl—because we all like to think that we have a little bit of culinary genius in us, right?
Our top pick will always be the signature tuna poké bowl, made with line caught yellow fin tuna, coated in a salty spicy soy sauce, which sits on a mountain of soba, brown or white rice, or iceberg, and grated beetroot, kimchi, sweet wakame, daikon, and crunchy wasabi peas.
Opened by Marcus Lalak (formerly of North Bondi Italian), Hooked on Poké serves up its own modern twist on the Hawaiian classic—you guessed it—poké. What does that mean exactly? They’ve basically taken the traditional Hawaiian dish, combined it with the LA interpretation and then thrown in some Japanese and Korean flavours, for fun.
