Good things come to those who wait, and thankfully the wait is over for the new-look menu at Howard's Cantina and Cocktail Bar. The revamped top floor of the Rose of Australia Hotel is the latest addition to the already pretty bloody great Inner West. 

As the name suggests, food and booze are the game here and our hot tip is to BYO stretchy pants. The menu is perfect for sharesies, with clever takes on old favourites (we're looking at you mashed potato with three types of fat) and the kind where vegetables are anything but a sideshow. From fall-off-the-bone braised lamb shoulder, to Iceberg lettuce topped with caviar (oh yeah, it's a little bit luxe but a whole lot of affordable fun), this one is sure to impress your mates.

Whatever you do, leave room for dessert, because the house made honeycomb situation has your name all over it alongside a tamarind coconut sorbet and some sweet, sweet watermelon—bet you're glad you wore those stretchy pants #welcome.
