The verdict
Isaac is the newest Italian and Middle Eastern fusion to hit Sydney and it’s probably about to become your fave new local dinner spot. Located in Redfern that guy is delivering a fresh, modern take on home classics like grilled chicken and a good ol’ pasta bake. The result? Hearty comfort food oozing rich flavour combos.
Like we said, the menu is filled with classics, like the pasta bake filled with lamb ragu and Grana Padano, bathed in a creamy fontina cheese sauce; and carbonara made with honeyed bacon and parsley. Honeyed. Bacon. For a meatier, more substantial feed, then order the Cape Grim grass-fed hanger steak served with portobello mushrooms, wilted spinach and a caramel jus.
The share plates lean more on the Middle Eastern side, with starters like the chickpea dip with traditional flatbread and a spiced kebda with date puree, pickles, and mustard.
On the drinks front, there are local and international wines alongside Negroni tasters for summer.
