The Verdict
Russian pies, pancakes, pastries and cakes will have you rushin' to Newtown's Izba Russian Treats. Traditional Russian pancakes (blinis) are served both savoury with beef and caramelised onions or sweet with Nutella, strawberries and cream.
As for their cakes, the honey cake is a clear crowd pleaser with layers of honey dough, vanilla sour cream and topped of with crumble. If you're gluten intolerant, fear not, and dig into the gluten Putin, with a gluten-free base, raspberry and caramel.
