The Verdict
Paddington locals will, no doubt, be verrrryyy well acquainted with Jackies—she’s a damn institution. The courtyard café is nestled in behind Oxford Street and since recently being taken over by new owners, the menu is (dare we say it?) even better than the O.G. They’ve held onto some of the old faithful menu items that made this place such a hit.
The menu has a strong Japanese influence which means you’ll be brunching on raw seasonal green vegetable bowls with a poached egg and all drizzled with a miso dressing, and lunching on poke, seared salmon nigari or sashimi platters. In case you were wondering, of course it’s all delicious and fresh AF.
Alongside Japanese goodies you can also expect an indulgent brioche French toast with whipped ricotta and rhubarb compote (stretchy pants are recommended) and coconut and cacao granola with a vegan chia yoghurt (as good as it sounds).
The drinks menu has had a full revamp, but we recommend you order a coffee in the morning and a cheeky glass of French rosé in the afternoon.
