The verdict
If you’re a long-time lover of anything involving dough (come at us doughnuts and cookie dough) then you may want to take a seat, because chef Dan McGuirt has opened an American-style café in Darlinghurst dedicated to just that. You can consider this your official permission to eat your weight in the good stuff (we plan to).
This place is all about giving people what they want—and we all know that the people really want scoops of cookie dough in a cup (we’re listening), bacon and egg doughnuts (seriously), and a classic glazed doughnut. Everyone knows that filter coffee and doughnuts were made for one another, so they have that too—it just wouldn’t be a true American café without a pot of joe (get it?).
The fit out is extreme in the best kind of way—with stools shaped like stacked doughnuts and doughnuts lining the walls. In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, Joe Dough is all about doughnuts and we are more than okay with it.
Joe Dough will close its doors on 28 October 2017.
