The Verdict
It’s the brand new CBD hole-in-the-wall sandwich bar churning out delicious vegan sangas. Let’s take a moment to thank the foodie gods for this one (and of course the real dream-makers here—the team behind Verd). Taking the location of Zeitgeist, Joe’s is the humble vegan abode with all things pickled, spiced, slow-roasted and veggie-friendly.
Stacks are made with Iggy’s sourdough (some of the best in Sydney FYI) and we guarantee no major foodie will be missing the meat here. Plus, you’ll be glad to know these guys have buddied up with Alfie’s Kitchen, home to one of the most creative vegan chefs in Syd-town (here’s to you Joey Astorga).
To paint you a delicious picture, you can expect epic combos of miso caramel eggplant with Japanese slaw and the tempeh Reuben. This one’s basically a crunchy cloud of pickled goodness. Obviously, we’ve also got our eye firmly on the BLAT which has all the usual fan faves and in the place of smoky bacon, it’s all about the smoky AF tempeh.
Oh yeah, lunch is well and truly sorted.
