The verdict
While we’re all well acquainted with Potts Point bar, The Butler, its brand spankin’ revamped bar has just become one of our new favourites. Named after one of Victoria Street’s iconic residents, Juanita Nielsen, the venue is pretty much as cool as she was.
The story goes, she managed to save the building that’s now home to The Butler and Juanita’s from demolition in the 70s, before she disappeared off the Kings Cross scene, never to been seen again. We like her already.
All conspiracies aside, Juanita’s brings the uber cool vibes from The Butler and as you’d imagine, they’ve retained a few of the building’s original features. Think all things sandstone and timber complimented with tropical plants. If you don’t think to hard, you could totally be on holidays.
Drinks are a must (obvs) and on that front, the seasonal cocktail menu is where it’s at. We’re talking a Juanita spritz made with Absolut Elyx, Aperol, lemon, sweet rose syrup and rhubarb bitters. Honestly, we want two. Grab a few bites from The Butler and you’ve got yourself a damn good afternoon. We recommend the ruby tuna tostadas or chipotle pork empanadas. We’ll meet you at the bar.
