Kakawa was the name given to cocoa beans by the South American Olmec civilisations in 1000. BC, so it seems only right that this shop in Darlinghurst is called Kakawa Chocolates. If you are a serious chocoholic, and chocolate is part of your daily routine, you are going to want to add this place to your chocolate heaven bucket list. Making only the best chocolate in town, all of their products are gluten-free with no preservatives or artificial flavours. So it’s pretty much healthy then, right?

They make an array of little chocolate treats including almond praline, earl grey tea, caramelised banana and champagne which are just a few of their different flavours of chocolate available. They also sell ice cream sandwiches, chocolate bars, chocolate slabs and probably one of the best hot chocolates we have ever tried that you can get in five flavours; dark traditional, milky classic, chilli, hazelnut and brandy.
