Atop The Strand Hotel in Darlinghurst, Kasbah is a Sydney rooftop bar offering an idyllic Mediterranean escape with views of the CBD skyline.
A French/Moroccan influence underpins the food and beverage menu and design, with tiling, woven rugs and low-profile lounges creating the perfect setting for laid-back afternoon sessions.
Culinary director Clayton Wells and head chef Leigh McDivitt’s menu of grazing plates draws from their individual strengths (including less-is-more and nose-to-tail principles), allowing for beautiful ingredients to shine in dishes like duck, pistachio and burnt honey pastilla, yellowfin tuna crudo in lemon and saffron vinaigrette, and spiced tiger prawns.
The team from sibling venue Maybe Sammy have crafted a cocktail selection playing cleverly to the theme, with sips like the Ficus (gin, fig, ginger, dry vermouth, white peach and jasmine soda) or The Silk Road (vodka, coffee liqueur, tahini, cardamom and rose water) joined by a concise selection of natural wines.
