Knotted Burwood

Korea’s viral dessert brand has landed in Sydney, with Knotted opening its first Australian store in Burwood—bringing much-loved cream-filled doughnuts and a pastel-toned bakery vibe to the Inner West.

Knotted first launched in Seoul back in 2017 as a small café built around one simple idea: making desserts that spark joy. Since then, it’s grown into one of Korea’s most recognisable sweet-treat brands, expanding to more than 40 stores and recently branching out to Los Angeles. The Burwood opening marks the next step in its global rollout.

The hero here is the doughnut dough itself: soft, fluffy and light, and designed to balance the rich whipped-cream style fillings inside. Flavours span familiar favourites like vanilla and milk-cream alongside matcha-leaning blends, tiramisu and fruit-forward options. Everything is made fresh on site, including the fillings and toppings, with the team working through batches across the day.

The space has the warm, playful feel seen in its international stores—pastel branding, a welcoming counter piled high with baked goods, and seating that works for quick grab-and-go stops or sweet treat catch-ups. Shelves of merch and character accessories also make an appearance for die-hard fans.

On the drinks side, expect creamy iced lattes, matcha options and coffee poured using premium beans.

For the dedicated city-sider's, their socials have also hinted at a CBD opening slated for April 2026, with more locations likely to follow if the Burwood buzz is anything to go by.
