The Verdict:
If you haven’t yet heard of Reynold Poernemo, then you obvs don’t even care about dessert. Poernemo is the king of all things sweet—an ex-MasterChef finalist (so he’s legit), and successful owner of KOI Dessert Bar in Chippendale, Poernomo gives the finger to the whole ‘quitting sugar’ phenomenon, and makes you think twice about substituting your rice malt syrup for the real deal.
With a strong following behind the dessert guru, he’s decided to come clean and spill the sugar on how his renowned treats are made. The Poernomo brothers are set to open Koi Dessert Kitchen in Ryde this April, leaving sweet-tooths rejoicing and paleo fanatics second guessing their kale brownies. And when these guys aren’t teaching us how to create the infamous mango yuzu, their kitchen turns into a café, where the people who just want to eat (without the learning) can gather for some taste-bud magic. *Cue Maroon 5, Sugar*
