The verdict
Sydney has welcomed its newest and cutest Japanese joint, Konakara, sitting tight on the corner of Fitzroy Street in Surry Hills. Konakara specialises in simple Japanese food done well, and it’s the perfect spot for a quick lunchtime bite or cosy date night meal.
Konakara brings you the classics, but with their over signature flavours and textures, like their grilled pork neck with shallots (chashu) or the light and delicate ramen broth (torigara) that puts all other ramen to shame. Konakara has you covered if you’re a fried chicken person (of course you’re a fried chicken ,person) with their insane karaage, but they also dish up authentic fresh vegetarian dishes in case you prefer to keep it meat-free.
It’s currently BYO, so it’s basically a no brainer, right?
