To celebrate its opening on Monday 30 June, La Panineria is giving away 100 loaded Tuscan-style paninis from 10am.
Options include the Dean Martin (prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, rocket and house-made pesto), the Mortazza (mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio and lemon zest), the Ma Per Favore (poached chicken, avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, dressed lettuce and provolone), the Nonno's Salame (spicy salami, ricotta, artichoke, rocket and capsicum spread), the Dolce Vita (tomatoes, mozzarella, house-made pesto and oregano), and the Versace (ham off the bone, ricotta, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke, rocket and pesto).
Known for their carbonara scrambled eggs, specialty Italian coffee drinks, and house-made focaccias, the family team behind Tessuto has opened a grab-and-go Italian sandwich bar called La Panineria in the Sydney CBD.
The menu offers Tuscan-style schiacciata sandwiches, carbonara scrambled egg-loaded croissants, pizza by the slice, and Italian sweet treats from its hole-in-the-wall site in Curtin Place, with 13 loaded panini on the menu.
Highlights include the Dean Martin with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, rocket and house-made pesto; the Mortazza with mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio nuts and lemon zest; and the Gladiator with sliced porchetta, salsa verde, provolone, charred broccolini and house-made aioli topped with crispy pork crackling.
Taking the favourite brekkie dish from Tessuto, the carbonara scrambled egg-filled croissant comes with guanciale, cracked pepper and a substantial shaving of pecorino, and there are breakfast paninis and Aussie brekkie staples, plus doughnuts filled with gianduja, sfogliatelle filled with pistachio cream, and cannolis.
Tessuto’s popular signature coffee creations are also available, including a thick Italian hot chocolate with a shot of espresso, and a pistachio matcha latte.
