The verdict
If you live in the West (and even if you don’t)—listen up! You now officially never need to travel into the city again because an epic foodie spot has opened in Rooty Hill. Hoorah! What does this mean exactly? Well, you can now fiiiiiinally get all the best bites and booze in the one place, and all just a short drive/walk/scooter away from home.
Brought to you by the legends at TomMarkHenry (aka the brains behind the likes of The Darlo Country Club, 1888 Certified and Bondi’s Best), Made By The Hills is a slick new bar slash café slash burger hang out at the good ol’ Rooty Hill RSL.
Pasticceria Papa and Chur Burger have moved in so you can get your baked ricotta cheesecake with a side of fries, and the Made By The Hill cafe will be dishing up a whole heap of your other fave foods like cheese and charcuterie boards, pizza and (even) salad so you can eat yourself into a food coma on the reg then roll right into bed.
The bar has every cocktail you could ever want, along with beer and cider, and just think—you can use the cash you saved on that Uber home and treat yo’ fine self to the best damn bottle of vino on the menu. Now, back to the cocktails. For winter, Made by the Hill has launched two special cocktails especially with kidults in mind (that's you). There's The Adults Only Tim Tam Slam which is filled with butterscotch liqueur, vodka, Mozart liqueur, ice, and crushed Tim Tams (obvs), then the eGaytime x Nutella cocktail which is everything you're picturing.
And ICYMI, they’re serving up $1 hot wings every single Thursday night from 6pm until sold the hell out. That’s all the convincing you need (surely) but please note that it’s only 12 wings per person—not a bad deal, really. Now, more on those wings. They’re drenched in a southern-style seasoning and flour, fried until crispy and then slathered in the hot sauce of your choice. Yesss.
