Martinez is a multi-pronged venue in the heart of Circular Quay by House Made Hospitality (Hinchcliff House’s Grana, Lana and Apollonia, Bar Mammoni, Easy Tiger and Promenade Bondi Beach), with a terrace bar boasting harbour views, Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, and convenient kiosk serving CBD workers.
While the entire offering draws inspiration from France’s eclectic artist residencies with colourful, handmade and textured design elements, the terrace bar is a prime spot for soaking up some sunshine with spritzes, share plates and seafood in a starring role.
Channelling the breezy culinary culture of the south of France, nibbles like charcuterie, cheese and tinned fish sit alongside chilled mussels with smoked roe, gruyere croquettes and duck terrine.
Crab tagliatelle and a Wagyu burger are joined by more substantial plates like steak frites and grilled swordfish, plus baguette sandwiches making the menu a true day-to-night offering.
Naturally, rosé from Provence and Australia features (including in larger formats perfect for group sessions), and fresh and fruity cocktails are shaken behind the nine-metre, blue-tiled bar.
The terrace bar at Martinez is now open, and the restaurant will launch on Thursday 12 October—stay tuned for details.
