The former Lemoncello site has re-opened as Matteo and guys, it’s about to get really delicious up in here. The creators of Matteo (Eddie Levy and Adam Abrams) are experts in the afternoon Sunday sesh (think The Island and Darlo Country Club), and they’ve brought the same party vibes (that err just on the right side of classy) to Double Bay.
The main event at Matteo is the Neopolitan pizza, which is hand crafted by Head Chef Orazio D’Elia, and this beauty is made from a light, elastic dough topped with traditional San Marzano crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, and creamy buffalo mozzarella. Other honourable mentions are the Amalfi-style pasta infused with parsley, and served with forest mushrooms and ricotta cheese, and a southern Italian-style salt-encrusted snapper that’s as delicious as it sounds (and looks).
In the warmer months, Matteo will be providing a daily arvo sesh—with refreshing Italian cocktails (Aperol Spritz for everyone!), complimentary snacks, and live music to bring the chilled vibes.
