The Verdict
Since opening their doors in Bondi Beach way back in 2016, Milky Lane has already planted themselves firmly on many Sydneysider’s foodie hit lists. Serving cocktails and burgers, it’s their desserts that have got everyone talking. Pretty much when it comes to these guys there is nothing they can't pimp the absolute shiz out of. Most recently they've given hungry Sydney bellies their Belgian waffle sandwich. FYI the waffles have caramelised banana in them, with Ferrero Rocher gelato between, and a deep-fried Ferrero Rocher on top. It’s all lovingly finished with a healthy drizzle of maple syrup and liquid Nutella, before being garnished with crushed Ferreros. We know, deep breaths.
The social media hype when they first launched surrounding their CoNuts dessert was hardly surprising since the sweet treat is a churro/Trdelnik/doughnut ice cream cone filled with fresh soft serve and doused in all of the toppings your heart desires. Think crushed nuts, pretzels, Maltesers and runny Nutella. It’s a masterpiece.
And because these guys are all about pushing the boundaries (all boundaries), they've just come up with a dessert that is nothing short of genius. Two words: dessert tacos. These bad boys are stuffed with all manner of naughty (read: delicious) things and they’ve even invented gelato flavours to match the names. The Hubba Bubba (pink) taco is stuffed with bubblegum everything—gelato, Jelly Belly, syrup and fairy floss, while the cookie monster (blue) taco is filled with cookie dough gelato, choc chip cookies and choc chip cookie foam. We’re not really sure what all that means but what we do know it that they’re damn good.
And just so you don't miss out, the dessert tacos are launching tomorrow (Friday 17 November) and then they'll release two new ones every 2 weeks. First up is the two we mentioned earlier.
