Misfits is Redfern’s newest hangout for bites and booze. The retro interiors (think poppin’ neon signs) and laid back vibes make this the perfect addition to the inner west bar scene—true to the Redfern locale, this one is as quirky as you’d expect.
Upstairs is the cocktail lounge where you need to order grab the chilli margarita cocktail (don’t question it), or knock back a few premium tipples in the hidden private room, which ICYMI, is peak Sydney. We aren’t kidding when we say premium either, with magnum and imperial wine sizing available (and encouraged).
Downstairs is all about the food, with a dining room serving up top notch dishes like a charred octopus, with black beans, pops of apple and succulents bathed in a romesco sauce; and the pan fried halloumi with sweet golden raisins, marjoram spice, dukkah, drizzled with a champagne and honey glaze.
There’s even something for a casual dinner, with booth seating and classic pub meals coming over the pass. We’re suckers for a good ol’ classic cheeseburger—with Angus beef, smoked cheese, pickles, ketchup and fries.
