The Verdict
No we’re not talking about that Jen Anniston and Owen Wilson film about a gorgeous Labrador, that made us cry for two hours straight. Although, this place might make you cry, but from the pure joy of a delicious, delicious meal. Miss Marley’s, set in Sydney’s Manly, has been injected with a Latino vibe, and guess what? We’re feeling cultured AF.
Yeah OK, so your best mate went to Cuba over the summer holidays, and her snaps on insta made you super jel, so you should head to Miss Marley’s because it serves a whopping 100 different tequila varieties (yeah in your face, “best friend”). But that’s not all these Pan American Gods offer. If BBQ Jamaican Jerk single baby back ribs doesn’t have your mouth watering, then please don’t read on, we don’t need that kind of negativity here.
Not only does their food transport you to a whole new world of robust flavours, (try the chorizo cornichons and you’ll understand) but their 1950’s inspired interior transcend you to an intimate atmosphere, that will have you feeling oh-so-fancy. So grab a friend, or a date, and head over to Manly’s coolest tapas bar and don’t forget to try one of their rattlesnake margaritas. And sip it. Sip it good.

Bar Demo
Bar Demo is a late-night vinyl bar in Newtown, designed for lovers of a well-crafted drink without the fuss. Owners Claudia Morgan and Olly Churcher (Ex-Double Deuce Lounge) are bartenders by trade, so there’s faith to be had in their curated 60-bottle wine list and seasonally crafted cocktails. The venue itself has grown from their joint experiences working and sipping in some of Sydney’s best bars—Morgan says “we wanted somewhere open late where we could buy a bottle without sitting down for a meal, sink some martinis, listen to some interesting music or have a dance”. Bar Demo certainly checks all of the boxes: open 5pm—midnight, Wednesday—Saturday, with no full kitchen but a dedicated menu for snacks, and a soundtrack of full albums played on vinyl, with each night featuring a curated selection of tunes.
