The verdict
Get in early or be prepared to wait for a good spot at Sydney Chinese restaurant New Shanghai – it's more than worth it. The hardest part will be choosing from the massive menu, but no doubt you'll find yourself returning to work through it.
Recipes have been passed down from generation to generation and include delicious soup dumplings, hot pots and pan-fried buns. As an added bonus, you can watch your dumplings being made before your eyes by highly skilled (and ridiculously fast working) dumpling chefs, which just adds to the whole experience.
Perfect for lunch with the fam, a catch up with friends, or just a way to cure that dumpling craving, New Shanghai is one of Sydney's best Chinese restaurants and certainly a Chatswood restaurant to add to your must-eat list.
