On Cue Studio is bringing a new mat pilates concept to Sydney’s North Shore, opening in Gladesville on Saturday 28 February.
Located at 11/33–37 College Street, On Cue is the area’s first studio dedicated exclusively to mat pilates. The approach is deliberate and streamlined, centred on structured programming, experienced instructors and a purpose-built space designed around technical precision and measurable progression.
Co-founders Tara Burdett and Joelle Lee developed the studio in response to a gap in the local market, where classes can often feel impersonal or overly trend-driven. At On Cue, instruction is focused on clarity and timing, with coaches using detailed verbal, visual and tactile guidance so members understand the mechanics behind each exercise and how to execute it safely and effectively.
The timetable spans standard mat Pilates and hot mat Pilates, with infrared panels warming the room to support mobility and muscle activation without turning the session into a high-intensity sweat fest. Rather than programming classes in isolation, the studio runs on a clear progression model, so each session builds on the last.
The class structure reflects that pathway. ON POINT focuses on foundations: alignment, control and core technique—making it a practical starting point for newcomers or anyone wanting to recalibrate. ON CUE steps things up with a dynamic, full-body approach that integrates strength, mobility and endurance; while ON STRENGTH leans further into progressive loading, blending Pilates control with weights to develop stability and functional strength.
There’s also a practical side to the setup. Members can pre-order coffee from the in-house café to collect after class, and the studio includes showers, eucalyptus towels and hair styling tools, making it easier to slot a session into the workday.
To celebrate the opening, On Cue is offering two weeks of unlimited classes for $50, giving locals the chance to try both the regular and infrared formats.
