The verdict
Central Park just got a whole lot fancier (and comfier TBH) with their newest addition—a luxe AF cinema. Take a seat on their reclining plush lounges and munch on buttery popcorn in the newest Palace Cinema in Central Park Mall. FYI that’s the huge building covered in lush greenery (you know the one).
With 10 screens plus three additional screens in the platinum area, this is definitely not your average trip to the movies.
This place takes all the best parts of binge-watching Netflix at home with comfortable seating, endless food and drinks (plus an epic view). But they’ve also thrown in things like beer halls and champagne bars and if that’s not enough to convince you to get off your couch and to the movies STAT, then we don’t know what will.
Not convinced? The cinema is also screening international movies for those with an extreme case of wanderlust (definitely us). Forget the creaky and stale popcorn smelling cinemas of your childhood—this place is fitted out with super classy décor that will have you wanting more (rhyme definitely intended).

Bar Demo
Bar Demo is a late-night vinyl bar in Newtown, designed for lovers of a well-crafted drink without the fuss. Owners Claudia Morgan and Olly Churcher (Ex-Double Deuce Lounge) are bartenders by trade, so there’s faith to be had in their curated 60-bottle wine list and seasonally crafted cocktails. The venue itself has grown from their joint experiences working and sipping in some of Sydney’s best bars—Morgan says “we wanted somewhere open late where we could buy a bottle without sitting down for a meal, sink some martinis, listen to some interesting music or have a dance”. Bar Demo certainly checks all of the boxes: open 5pm—midnight, Wednesday—Saturday, with no full kitchen but a dedicated menu for snacks, and a soundtrack of full albums played on vinyl, with each night featuring a curated selection of tunes.
