Passiontree Velvet St Ives

The verdict

Passiontree Velvet is the kind of place that you can head for a decadent treat yo’self moment or a ‘grammable (and delicious) brunch with your mates. The menu can be divided into three categories – brunch, baguettes and dessert. Their baked stuffed avocado is a good place to start because who can say no to an avocado lined with smoked salmon and a baked egg, seasoned with chilli flakes and cracked black pepper? As for the desserts; just take a look at the glass cabinet and try to not walk away with seven slices of cheesecake.

Their high teas are a work of art, combining the best of the classic English spread (think ribbon sandwiches and freshly baked scones) and French delights like macarons, tarts and eclairs. But what we really need to talk about is the campfire smores, which are exactly what you are imagining but even better because it is in hot chocolate form. Do you like marshmallows in your hot chocolate? Of course you do, and this one has an entire layer of toasted marshmallows and crushed up oreos sitting atop its molten chocolatey goodness.
