the verdict

If getting your body in shape is #1 on your list of goals this summer, enlisting the help of the team at P.E. Dept is the smartest thing you’ll do all season. With expert personal training advice, one-on-one sessions as well as group classes, and healthy food and drink on site—P.E. Dept has all you need to up your fitness game in the smartest way possible.

In essence, the Potts Point fitness hub is a comprehensive gym, strength, resistance and weights training area, a yoga and pilates studio—and neighbouring healthy café, Wholefoods Dept, to make sure you’ve got all the lean proteins, juices and healthy snacks you need for the day. Open from 5am until 10pm on weekdays, with ample weekend hours too, finding a time that suits isn’t tricky. To make things even easier, P.E. Dept is divided into three key fitness departments:

  • Functional Dept: All of your cardio, HIIT, boxing, and high-energy needs.
  • Strength Dept: Uniquely designed for strength and lifting sessions.
  • Yoga Dept: Where yoga, pilates and barre classes are the order of the day.

At P.E. Dept, the team are all about providing a welcoming space that’s brimming with positive vibes and encouragement, making sure you hit those happiness goals too. If there’s one thing that sets this gym apart from Sydney’s other fitness hubs, it’s the team’s upbeat mentality and attention to their clients.

Owned by Evan, Vee and Levi (resident dog and mascot…because no session is complete without a few pats!), the modern gym runs intimate group classes for HIIT, strength improvement, high-energy cardio, barre, pilates and several yoga styles, meaning that no matter what you’re feeling that day, you’ll find a class to suit you. You can also sign up to informative and engaging seminars (soooo much better than the boring stuff you’re probably used to) to ensure that you’re well educated about how to get the most out of your routine and recovery.

So, how can you fit in a new fitness routine with all the other stuff you’ve got going on? Well, because P.E. Dept comes complete with Wholefoods Dept on site, you can cut out those trips to the grocery store and spend that extra time toning, defining and improving the areas you want to shape up most. Because feeling good shouldn’t be hard.

P.E. Dept offers 2 weeks’ training for only $25.
