The verdict
Go for dinner, stay for dancing. That’s the way of life at this Sydney establishment. You might be keen for an evening of chowing down on some grub in a sleek environment, or perhaps cocktails and bubbles among your nearest and dearest.
For Summer the team has unveiled a delish new menu that's perfect for a few starters to get the night going or the complete date night experience. You can't go past the tuna, avocado and wasabi tostados followed by porcini and truffle arancini balls, through to their larger plate offerings where the herb crusted lamb loin will have you licking the bones clean and without a care who's watching.
There's also a new lock cocktail menu because let's face it a night out deserves good booze. Must trys include a clever take on tequila combining mandarin, blood orange liquer, vanilla and lime juice whilst rum lovers can add an Atomic Punch to their night with house rums, exotic juices and Peychard's Bitter.

Bar Demo
Bar Demo is a late-night vinyl bar in Newtown, designed for lovers of a well-crafted drink without the fuss. Owners Claudia Morgan and Olly Churcher (Ex-Double Deuce Lounge) are bartenders by trade, so there’s faith to be had in their curated 60-bottle wine list and seasonally crafted cocktails. The venue itself has grown from their joint experiences working and sipping in some of Sydney’s best bars—Morgan says “we wanted somewhere open late where we could buy a bottle without sitting down for a meal, sink some martinis, listen to some interesting music or have a dance”. Bar Demo certainly checks all of the boxes: open 5pm—midnight, Wednesday—Saturday, with no full kitchen but a dedicated menu for snacks, and a soundtrack of full albums played on vinyl, with each night featuring a curated selection of tunes.
