The verdict

Penny Café is situated in Ultimo and promises next level coffee, beautiful food and all round good vibes. Brainchild of the brother and sister duo of Martin and Penelope Morgan, this Sydney café focuses on seasonal food that is fresh, wholesome and delicious. If you’re there for breakfast, it would be a crime not to order the homemade maple and apple toasted muesli, sprinkled with dried fig, apricot, almonds and then topped with delicious yoghurt and fresh fruit. For lunch it’s all about the salads, where the only downside is the fact that you may not be able to order the same one again next season.

Take the autumn salad for instance, which mixes raw beetroot, carrot, fennel, pear, rocket and zucchini with crunchy sunflower seeds and a creamy tahini dressing. There’s also a range of hearty burgers and sandwiches on the menu as well as coffee by Little Marionette, making it the perfect place to go for your next café fix with friends.
