The Verdict
Not much beats a new pie and sausage roll empire on the scene, so brace your bellies for Pie Society.
Based on the age-old and fail-safe concept of a takeaway joint, the idea behind Pie Society is plain and simple—you come in, pick up a bunch of pies and sausage rolls, and go on your merry way. The team here is tapping into your weekend cravings in a big way so you, unfortunately, won’t find this guy open every day of the week.
Instead, the crew will be churning out trays of the good stuff fresh from the oven from Fridays straight through to Sundays from 9am until 3pm. Is it a ploy to make the best hangover feed even more accessible—maybe. We’ll bite that carrot.
As for what you can expect on the menu, it’s a serious heaven of slow-cooked meats, juicy puff pastry, and other seriously tasty chunky fillings.
On the pie side of things, there’s an original beef morsel, which will probably top every staple meat pie you’ve ever ordered. There’s also a line-up of more creative twists on the good stuff worth exploring too. You’ll find a beef and cheese combo; crackling pork belly and roasted apple; chicken tarragon; three-cheese truffle cauliflower; beef, bacon, and habanero; and an epic Mex-inspired pie with chipotle black bean and sour cream.
For the sausage roll fiends, you’ll want to strap in because there’s a bacon cheeseburger roll with your name on it and ready for the taking. On top of this, you’ll also find a sausage roll creation that looks like a glorious mix of pork, sage, and caramelised apple which may turn you into a certified sausage roll snob as you say goodbye to the rookie beef mince and onion classic you’ve eaten all your life.
