Joey Pepperoni and Marty McFly of the Pizza Bros

You know these guys are pretty serious about pizza when they legally change their names to Joey Pepperoni and Marty McFly. Well, maybe not so serious—but definitely dedicated to a good time and a great slice of pie.

That is the vibe at Pizza Bros, the newest installation at the Rooftop of The Imperial in Erskineville. Joey and Marty are real-life brothers with very real pizza skills, having spent time flipping dough at Bella Brutta, Gigis, and The Dolphin Hotel over the last decade.

Pizza Bros started life as a pizza truck, touring the country for festivals and events, and most recently winning Inner West hearts with a pop-up at Grifter Brewing Co.

Now though, the fringed umbrellas and glittering gold pizza oven of The Imperial rooftop is the Pizza Bros' permanent home.

The menu has as much energy and presence as the brothers themselves: the cacio e pepe features fior di latte, double cream, black truffle, pecorino, and parmesan; the "Rick and Morty" is topped with fior di latte, garlic oil, LP’s mortadella, and pesto; and the "Waterworld" is a subtle and pizza-appropriate nod to Asian flavours with fermented chilli sauce, prawns, and pancetta.

The Pizza Bros love to break with tradition to keep things interesting too—expect to see some sacrilegious confit garlic on their Margherita and crowd-favourite optional add-ons like knots of local Vannella burrata and anchovies.

Vegetarian specials are available weekly, vegan is available upon request, and gluten-free bases are also an option.

Being atop one of Sydney's great LGBTQI+ institutions means you're in for a great night too—from the cocktails to the tunes, entertainment, and energy.
