Fancy tucking into dolmades and haloumi while overlooking the glistening harbour? Then make tracks to Ploos, located in Campbell's Cove.
The venue comes by way of celebrated chef Peter Conistis (Alpha and Elini's) and is his homage to the South Agean Islands like Cyprus and Crete. Ploos, meaning 'a voyage', heroes traditional dishes of the region, such as Cyprus' answer to kibbeh, koupes, and sheftalies: traditional Cypriot sausages cooked over charcoal. You can also expect seafood dishes such as Abrolhos octopus and grilled swordfish alongside mezze plates of domlades and haloumi. And of course, you'll want to order the baklava and loukoumades for dessert.
As for the wine (that you'll no doubt want), the list consists of local and new-world wines, including imports from Cyrpus and Crete, and Australian biodynamic drops.
The restaurant's atmosphere is in line with its culinary theme, too, making use of the heritage-listed warehouse's sandstone walls and pairing them with green and burgundy marble details and gold finishings. There's also an outdoor bar and al fresco seating for those who wish to soak in the water views while sipping a cocktail.
