A salute to the back lanes of New York's pizza capital, Little Italy, Pocket Pizza is a must visit pizza joint on the north side. From the "PRAWNHUB.com" pizza to the "Cheesus Christ", and "Netflix and Chilli", the menu, although not extensive, is a testament to good puns and great taste (something we can absolutely get behind).
If you've been slow to catch onto the kale craze, the "Funghitown" will surely get your vote over the line. Who would have thought fried kale on a pizza could be so delicious? Yes, these guys definitely know a thing or two about combining the perfect pizza toppings—like ground beef, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, and pickles, which makes up what can only be described as a Big Mac pizza.
Pizza aside, there is antipasti, salumi, snacks, and pasta (like truffle mac n' cheese) to fill up on too. For dessert, the banoffee pie is a must, but you can also stick to the classics with Pocket's tiramisu.
To drink, there are three varieties of Negroni to try (a major plus, if you ask us), spritz (try the limoncello spritz with mint), and a tight edit of Aussie and Italian wines.
For an added bonus, Pocket Pizza is allergy and vegan-friendly too. Nearly 70 percent of the menu is gluten-free or available GF and more than a third of the menu is vegan or available vegan with the use of things like "Notzeralla" vegan cheese as a sub.
