The verdict
This lively location serves up the mother-of-all Argentinean barbeques. Set on bustling Cleveland Street in Surry Hills, Porteño boasts a vast array of Argentinian favourites, including their specialty 8-hour suckling pig and chorizo pork sausage. Sure, there may be a wait, but that wait is made much easier by enjoying a few cocktails upstairs at Gardel's Bar (one of Sydney best cocktail bars).
We’re all about paella and a glass of vino, and lucky for us Sydney is getting a Spanish festival for everything from fashion to food and of course, wine. You can thank Porteno for this stroke of pure genius. Pick up a few homewares you can tell people you got on your “trip to Madrid in 2006” that never happened, ask Spanish local what’s hot and what’s not for your next ‘actual’ trip to Spain, and we’d be disappointed if you don’t OD on gazpacho. Gracias amigos. It’s all happening on Sunday 8 April from 10am and you can register for free here.
