The Verdict
Not like you needed more reason to visit Manly but just so you know, there’s a brand-spankin' new croissant haven about and it’s pretty friggin’ amazing. Rollers Bakehouse, who also have an Instagram feed to boot, is nestled in a laneway only a few steps from the beach. This sweet addition to the north is bringing a whole heap of deliciousness to Sydney shores and we can confirm cookies, bagels and hamburger rolls all make an appearance.
However, the focus here is a no-rules and adventurous approach to our dearly beloved morning pastry we know as the croissant.
You can stick with the OG classic but should you be tempted by basically every other croissant-fusion goodie (and you will be), you’re in for a real treat. The maple bacon snail, a smoky maple bacon with maple custard and roasted almonds, should definitely be on your Rollers bucket list. You should also sink your teeth into the charcoal dough of the sushi roll croissant which has smoked salmon with black sesame, pickled ginger, nori, wasabi and yuzu. On the coffee side, you can expect batch brews, cold drip and classics from Okay Coffee.
