The Verdict

The Saké family has travelled across the harbour to the new rooftop of Manly Wharf, where you can indulge all your summer vibe needs. The clean lines and minimalism of the Japanese inspired interior meets a location that is quintessentially Sydney and it’s hard not to imagine this as a staple spot for your summer. 

Boasting a variety of dining spaces, you can choose your fortune at Sake. Take in the sea air and ocean views on the terrace, sit kitchen-side at the sushi counter, get the crew around for a more intimate experience in one of the private dining rooms or sip on gin bowls in the bar area. Speaking of gin, lucky for us, they really like it there. With bespoke creations featuring local gin hero Manly Spirits Co, your standard arvo G&T is left for dead. The Saké Sundowner Sessions make it even harder to say no, running from Monday – Wednesday from 5pm til 6pm and gin bowls fgo for as little as 10 bucks. 

Coming in hot on the drink-front is an impressive list of Japanese whiskies, beers, and sake if gin is not your thing. And to accompany all this drinking you’ll be doing, you should probably try the food because it’s definitely worth it. Northern Beaches locals can get their long-awaited fix of hiramasa kingfish and the well-known chocolate dragon egg without having to cross the bridge.
