After more than a decade at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, Alex Prichard is stepping away from Bondi to open something of his own—this time, a smaller, more personal project on the NSW South Coast.
Set to land in Berry, Sara Dining and Garden marks a definite shift from one of Sydney’s most recognisable oceanfront dining rooms. The restaurant will sit within Moraea Farm, part of the Linnaeus Collection, where the experience stretches well beyond the table and into the landscape itself.
If you’re expecting a scaled-down version of Icebergs, you won’t find it here. The ambition is still there, but Prichard’s expression takes a different direction—more intimate and agricultural, with orchards, bees and livestock forming part of the wider environment that informs the food.
From the outset, this is a restaurant shaped closely by its surroundings. Produce will be grown and harvested on-site through cultivated kitchen gardens, with menus guided by seasonality and what’s coming out of the ground at any given time. Guests will also be able to stay on the property, moving between accommodation and dining in a cohesive, almost BnB-style environment.
Sara Dining is slated to open in autumn 2026, making it a timely excuse for a cooler-season South Coast escape—rolling grounds, farm animals and woodfire cooking all part of the experience.
