Sense Of Self Sydney
Sydney’s bathhouse scene will expand even further in 2025 when Sense Of Self opens on the edge of Surry Hills and Paddington, bringing the communal bathing philosophy and phone-free policy of its original Melbourne location to the largest bathhouse in Sydney.
The Sense Of Self Sydney bathhouse will occupy over 1000 square metres in a converted warehouse, with several large mineral pools heated to 39 degrees, a hammam steam room, saunas and invigorating cold plunge pools between 10 and 12 degrees.
There’ll also be dedicated treatment rooms and ample relaxation spaces encouraging guests to unwind and step away from the outside world.
"Bathhouses are so much more than the sum of their parts,” says Sense Of Self’s founder and director, Freya Berwick.
“They serve different functions for different people; from recovery bathing through to social connection and body acceptance—and we love catering to all of those needs.”
The bathhouse’s design philosophy will reflect and expand on the Melbourne location, with a rich palette, textured surfaces including exposed brickwork, and contrasting zones of lightness and darkness.
