You'll find Sofia in a renovated space above one of Surry Hills' favourite watering holes, Bar Cleveland.

Owners Sophie and Con Bousgas collaborated with celebrated Aussie chef Justin North to bring the concept to life—a 60-seat southern-Mediterranean grill and lounge bar with a share-style menu inspired by Sophie's grandmother.

Expect warm, cosy family vibes complete with seasonal produce and Greek-style mezze like pomegranate cured ocean trout and marinated warm olives with tomato, rosemary, and orange, drizzled in Sofia's house olive oil made from the family’s own olive groves in Greece.

Meatier options include grilled pork and lamb Cypriot sausages and Mediterranean spiced grass-fed beef tartare with garlic emulsion and grilled toast. 

To drink, a neat wine list covers off friendly Aussie drops with a few picks from France, Italy, Spain, and a Chardonnay from Sonoma. There's a solid list of signature cocktails, including a Turkish delight-inspired "Noah's Arc" and a boozy seasonal palate cleanser called "Scraggy Spring". 

Lunch is available Friday - Sunday.
