The verdict
Taking pole position in Darling Harbour, the brand new Sofitel Hotel oozes French luxury—all the better for pretending you’ve skipped over to Europe. With all that the harbour has to offer literally on its doorstep, you won’t have to walk far to find some seriously good eats and drinks (never forget the drinks).
If you’re keen to keep the stay cay vibes coming all weekend, then you never even need to leave the hotel. Head for one of their three on-site bars, luxe restaurant or club lounge or take it to the open-air pool bar. Somehow, that’s where we end up every time.
This place just got even better too, guys. They’ve just launched a cheese trolley which is effectively cheese yum cha and it’s literally made our week. Specifically, you’ll need to head to Atelier restaurant to take advantage of the French and Australian cheese on offer. For three selections, it’ll cost you $18 and if you want five, then it’ll be $24. We’re all over this one. Because cheese.
Please also be aware that some of the hotel is open to guests and other parts, not so much. We'll break this down really simply for you: the club lounge and pool bar are only open to guests while Atelier by Sofitel (restaurant) Champagne Bar and Esprit Noir (lobby bar) are all open to the public.
