The verdict
Vegans of the west will be happy to hear that the—until recently—Eastside (and Inner Westside) burger joint is headed to Parra. This is the place to take your meat-loving friends if you want to trick them, because while the menu describes the ‘meat’ as plant-based throughout, it is very much vegan. Our top pick is the classic cheeseburger, made with plant-based beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, tomato relish and mustard aioli.
It all sounds a bit weird but we can confirm that this place is the real deal—or as real as a vegan burger can be, for sure. We’ve even been known to send chefs here, who have been (begrudgingly) really damn impressed. Grab a serve of ref friend (tangy seasoned thick cut beer-battered fries with aioli) and a choc-banana coconut shake while you’re there, because you’d be crazy to go easy here.
There is no date set for the opening, but stay tuned.
