Well known to our Victorian friends, Dukes, the popular Melbourne coffee roasters have made the shift to Sydney, fiiiiiiiinally opening up at Barangaroo. If there was ever an award for environmentally considerate superstars, these guys should win it. They use ethical methods of sourcing the beans and can trace their coffee directly back to the plants. They also regularly donate 1% of the company’s sales to charities like the Belgian reforestation group, WeForest.
The décor is what you would expect from such a coffee dream team— American oak and a large marble bar, seating a comfortable 40 people. The menus change constantly, but house made sambos, fruit salads and other breakfast essentials are available everyday. And if you’re looking for that Newtown funk, there’s filter, AeroPress and batch-brew coffee also available.
