Avalon new-comer Sunset Diner is bringing a big splash of Downtown Miami to Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
It's a burger restaurant with sweet summer vibes providing Avalon locals and beach dreamers alike with the perfect spot to kick back and indulge in home-style American-inspired burgers and shakes. Chef Ben Varela, who has worked in iconic Sydney venues such as The Collaroy, Bistro Moncur and Paddington’s Four in Hand has drawn on his extensive experience to create his own Miami-inspired venue.
Varela's menu capitalises on Sydney's love of the no-frills, fast-casual Americana dining trend. Think hot dogs, corner shop style burgers, salads, soft-serve and sundaes.
"The Burger" – is your fool-proof pick, loaded with a beef patty, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles and the secret "sunset sauce". Include a side of truffle parmesan fries and a vanilla malt shake topped with whipped cream for good measure. To finish, be sure to make room for a s’more sundae with chocolate sauce, toasted marshmallow and cookie crumble.
Add a comprehensive wine list, specialty cocktails and a great selection of tap and bottled beer, and you have the perfect recipe for a great night out. Get your crew together and tick this place off your burger bucket list—you won’t be disappointed.
