The Verdict
We’ll be honest, not much beats a beautifully hand-crafted burger and Suzie Dukes is one of the best joints in Sydney to score such a creation.
Here, burgers are cooked to order and made hot and juicy with Suzie’s famous and heavenly house-made soft milk buns and sauces. The feeds here aren’t for the faint-hearted—come here on cheat day with a big appetite and an even bigger commitment to finish off a whole burger.
Suzie Dukes’ rolling list of mammoth burger specials is theatric, to say the least. The team here has been known to whip up a “King Schnitzel” monstrosity (in the most delicious way possible) decked out with parmesan-crusted schnitzel, smooth peanut butter, crispy bacon and housemade banana jam. They’ve also thrown together something called “Sideshow Alley”—a hot dog, double cheese, French fries, ketchup and mustard.
More recently, it’s been the “Slide Indomie” burger that has copped a lot of attention. This beast of a burger oozes sriracha mayo, fried chicken, mi goreng, fried egg and shallots all in a house-baked bun. The best part is, the crew at Suzie Dukes has been known to keep these weekly specials around for a bit longer—you just have to jump on their socials and ask nicely.
As for what’s on the regular menu, we love the “Duke” packed with a beef patty, American cheese, pickles, tomato, onion and the secret Duke sauce. The “Fiesta” is made with beef, American cheese, guacamole, tomato salsa, sour cream, corn chips and aioli; and, for the veggos out there—Suzie Dukes also serves up a halloumi burger piled with guac, mushrooms, onions and tomato salsa.
To pair with these, you’ll want to draw your attention to the loaded fries section. You’ll find everything from cheesy chips to cheese n’ bacon fries. Wash it all down with a signature Suzie Dukes doughnut shake (a thick shake topped with an actual doughnut) and roll home.
