Lovers of extreme exercise and anything that involves HIIT (that’s high-intensity interval training), listen up, because we’ve just found your new favourite thing. The Barre Project has hit the Sydney CBD and if you’re not familiar with what barre actually is, well, you’re about to be.
Barre combines the principles of Pilates, yoga, dance, plus strength and interval training—so yes, it’ll burn, but in that ‘hurts so good’ kind of way. Basically, it’ll lift your bum, give you abs and you’ll have a lot of fun along the way (we definitely did).
Think of this as your new healthy obsession. Between the multicoloured lighting that transitions to a new colour as you transition to a new level of pain, and the lovely instructor who happily guides you through said pain—it’s seriously fun. This isn’t a one size fits all scenario, with cardio, sculpt, sweat, and even express lunchtime classes, so you can hotfoot it back to the office in the hour.
This is their first Sydney practice, but there are plans to open more studios in the near future, so stay tuned.
